The Caboose was created as part of a Textual Creations TurboCAD tutorial geared toward 3D construction. Virtually all the components that comprise the caboose were created by extruding 2D profiles into 3D objects.

Modeling was based on measurements taken from a HO scale model that had been purchased from a local hobby store. Materials application was not part of the Deluxe version (V11) of TurboCAD at the time the caboose was created so line color and standard lights were relied on for the rendered model. It should be noted that Version 14 of TurboCAD Deluxe has seen the implementation of materials application, as well as render scene environment and render scene luminance capabilities.
