	Message to TurboCAD Mac Owners versions 1, 2, & 3

New Version! New Names!

We’ve changed the names of our TurboCAD Mac products with the release of the new version 4.

New - TurboCAD Mac Designer 2D (old TurboCAD Mac)
New - TurboCAD Mac Deluxe 2D/3D (old - TurboCAD Mac Pro)

Version 4 represents a brand new product line. We are excited about the new technology and believe it will serve our Macintosh customers for many years to come. We have a third, more 3D feature-rich product planned for later this year. All version 4 products require the Tiger OSX.

Some of the enhancements to our new version 4 line include completely updated user manuals, an updated ACIS® solid modeling engine (version 18), enhanced 3D editing, batch file conversion and 3D array copy options.

While version 4 is a new product, you will find the interface to be nearly the same as in versions 1 -3, and you will have the ability to use the drawings you created in these previous versions in version 4. Click on the link below, for an explanation of how you can import your existing TurboCAD Mac drawings into version 4.

* Note to Version 1 and 2 owners: TurboCAD Mac v4 is not file compatible with v4, unless they export their files as DXF and then read them into v4.


	Reading your TurboCAD Mac Version 3 files in Version 4

TurboCAD Mac version 3 owners:

TurboCAD Mac version 4 has the ability to directly import TurboCAD Mac version 1 files. Therefore, you will need to save your existing version 3 drawings in a version 1 format. To do this, please follow these steps:

In your TurboCAD Mac version 3 product, open the file you wish to use in version 4. From the ‘File’ menu, choose ‘Export’ and then make sure you select ‘v1.0’ as the Export type. Save the file under the name you wish and note that files saved in TurboCAD Mac (2D-only version) will be saved with a ‘.TC2’ file extension, while files saved in TurboCAD Mac PRO (2D/3D edition) will be saved in a ‘.TC3’ file extension.
To open this saved file in your copy of TurboCAD Mac version 4, from the ‘File’ menu, choose the ‘Import’ option and make sure file type is set to ‘TC2, .TC3, .TCM’. Find the file saved in your version 3 and select it. The file will open inside your copy of TurboCAD Mac version 4.
