Upgrade from DesignCAD 3D Max v23, v24, v25 and 2016!
DesignCAD 3D Max 2018 Upgrade is available to DesignCAD 3D Max V23, through v25, and 2016 to move up to the latest technology at a great price. New features in the upgrade include SketchUP import, a new insert manager, improved DWG/DXF interoperability and much more.
DesignCAD 3D MAX is a versatile, easy-to-use 2D/3D CAD tool that’s perfect for novice designers, but powerful enough to create high-quality designs, models and animations. It’s everything you need to design anything, from simple hobby projects to professional precision drawings.
This latest release offers several new features, including: support for AutoCAD 2018 drawing files; NURBS curves; a mixed 3D rendering mode combining shaded and hidden line views; a new 3D rendering mode that indicates which facets of a solid or surface are facing inward or outward; a new tool to examine solid surfaces for potential leaks; automatic hatching of 2D objects; improved symbol, block and image management; and a new option allowing you to scale text as you place it.
Design everything from furniture, decks, floor plans and architectural drawings to engineering layouts, electronic schematics, plats, maps, elevations and even toys for hobbies.
DesignCAD 2018 is now able to import DWG and DXF files in AutoCAD 2018 format, and able to Export DWG and DXF files to AutoCAD 2018 format.
DesignCAD 2018 offers the ability to scale the toolbox icons from 16x16 pixels up to 64x64 pixels in size steps of 8 pixels. This allows users with ultra-high-resolution screens to scale the icons up to a usable size.
DesignCAD 2018 adds a new type of curve entity to the existing set. Now in addition to Curves and Bezier Curves, we have the ability to create Control Curves (NURBs) with both Cubic and Quadratic weightings. Control Curves use the points you set as an enclosing cage to constrain the shape of the curve, rather than as a set of points the curve must pass through.
DesignCAD 2018 adds the new Arc Tangent to 2 Lines command, which draws an arc of a specified radius tangent to two picked lines. The result is similar to the arc formed by the Fillet command, but it does not trim the tangent lines to meet the endpoints of the resulting arc.
DesignCAD 2018 adds the ability to automatically create a hatch fill pattern in 2D shapes without having to separately run the Hatch, Hatch Line, or Hatch Fill. The current AutoHatch pattern can be set from the AutoHatch Settings in the Options menu; the pattern for an existing object can be changed from the AutoHatch Settings in the Info Box's toolbar.
DesignCAD 2018 adds a new Dynamic Scaling option to the Text command. When this option is enabled, text scales automatically and proportionally between the first two points set; when it is off, text is drawn at the specific size specified in the dialog box.
The Insert Manager no longer deletes selected blocks, images, or symbols immediately – it marks the ones selected for deletion, but they are not actually deleted from the drawing until the 'Apply' button is pressed. Pressing 'Cancel' will unmark the selected objects and leave them intact.
DesignCAD 2018 adds a new OpenGL Shading mode named 'Normals'. When this shading mode is active, facets of 3D objects that face toward the camera are shown in a lighter color than those facing away from the camera. This makes it easier to locate and correct mis-aligned facets in the drawing.
DesignCAD 2018 adds a new OpenGL and RedSDK Shading mode named 'Mixed Mode'. When this shading mode is active, 3D objects are rendered in a combination of Shaded and Hidden-Line modes, making it easy to see the underlying wireframe construction of shaded objects.
DesignCAD 2018 has improved the underlying solid engine so that new solid primitives are created in such a way tha the surface normals consistently face toward the outside of the object. This also applies to new Sweeps and Extrusions. Similarly, Boolean operations performed on newly-created objects result in more consistent surface normals than with previous versions.
DesignCAD 2018 adds a new command to check a selected solid for watertightness. Also, when performing Boolean operations (Solid Add, Solid Subtract), it checks the result for gaps in the mesh and gives warning if any gaps are detected.
DesignCAD 2018 adds a new command to help visually identify leaks in a triangulated Solid Surface object. The command creates two new layers in the drawing: HoleEdges and ExtraEdges. If there are holes in the mesh (specifically, if any edges are used in only one facet of the Solid Surface), blue lines are drawn in the HoleEdges layer. If there is extra geometry in the mesh (specifically if any edges are shared by more than two facets of the Solid Surface), red lines are drawn in the ExtraEdges layer.
DesignCAD 3D MAX is a general purpose CAD tool for easily creating precise, high-quality 2D designs, 3D models, renders and animations. Design everything from furniture, decks, floor plans and architectural drawings to engineering layouts, electronic schematics, plats, maps, elevations and even toys for hobbies.
Intuitive yet sophisticated editing tools, advanced geometric construction capabilities, drawing short cut keys and complete layer management make 2D drafting a breeze.
Access a full range of powerful 3D modeling primitives, including box, sphere, hemisphere, pyramid, cylinder, cone and torus. Utilize Boolean operations, including solid add, solid subtract, and slice, to shape your 3D parts. Add materials to your model to create presentation ready designs.
Apply a variety of colors, materials, textures and texture maps. Render your 3D models with transparency, fogging, shading, and light effects for added impact.
Create animated presentations with a moving view of your 3D model.
DesignCAD 3D Max comes with more than 10,000 2D/3D symbols to quickly drag and drop into your design..
Access 600 editable 3D models to quickly drag and drop into your architectural designs. Each colorful, fully texture-mapped symbol can be modified to your exact specification.
DesignCAD utilizes layers that can be independently switched on and off in order for users to have a better visibility of the drawing. For example, if you just need to see the outline of a component, switch off other layers containing center lines, dimensions, etc.
DesignCAD can also lock layers, so that they are visible but not editable, in order to prevent accidental changes to the locked layer. Some features of objects, such as color or linestyle, can also be controlled on a per-layer basis.
View the internal structure of a group and any subgroups, and simply reorganize contents without having to explode it. Group editing options include:
DesignCAD can be installed as either a 32-bit or 64-bit application. The 32-bit version has always been limited to using 2 GB of RAM, even when running on 64-bit versions of Windows with 4GB or more of RAM. The 64-bit version can access the larger amounts of RAM that are usually available on 64-bit systems, enabling you to create, edit, and render much larger drawings than you can with the 32-bit version.
Select two DesignCAD drawings or .BMP images, and Drawing Compare will perform a visual comparison of the two. It’s an invaluable aid when working collaboratively on a project, or when picking up an older project and looking to see the status of updates. Use it to compare a design and an As Built drawing to see where changes have been implemented.
Work with the latest AutoCAD® files. Import/Export AutoCAD® files from R12 through 2016 and enjoy excellent compatibility with AutoCAD® layouts and PaperSpace, plus support for AutoCAD® layers, linestyles, views, and blocks in both DXF and DWG file formats. DesignCAD even offers limited support for architectural objects, which are recognized and exploded to DesignCAD equivalents.
DesignCAD 3D MAX is now able to both import and export drawings to/from the .SKP format for use with SketchUp versions 3.0 to 2015.
